Colorado Safer Sport Law

Recently, The Colorado Safer Youth Sports Bill, SB24-113 (Safer Youth Sports | Colorado General Assembly) was signed into law by the Governor's office. The legislation requires all coaches within youth sports organizations to comply with a code of conduct and to complete all safe sport requirements, concussion awareness training, and background check, including screening for sexual offenses and screening for felony child abuse before they can work with teams or children. The EDGE Soccer Club currently complies with the requirements of this new bill through the implementation of CSA risk management requirements, the U.S. Soccer Safeguarding framework and the CSA Safe Soccer Policy. ESC has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and misconduct. All participants in the soccer community must play an active role in creating an environment free from emotional, physical, or sexual abuse.
