The 2008 Stenger Invitational Tournament Committee wants your help!

Be a part of the region's best Recreational Tournament - May 24th - 26th
(Memorial Day Weekend).

For more information - See the Stenger Invitational link at www.edgesoccer.net

We are looking for volunteer help to:

- help with check in
- be a Field Marshall
- help with field set-up
- be an Edge ambassador (give directions, generally be helpful) - players not involved in tournaments would be great for this.

We are also looking for tournament sponsors, or anyone who would like to advertise in our tournament program.  See the website for more information.

The Stenger Invitational is a marquee event that benefits all parts of the Edge program.

If you are interested in helping out, or if you want more
information, please contact Brian McLaren at brian@edgesoccer.net.

Mascot? Why in the world would we want that?

Stnger-man2
Mascots may sometimes strike older and wiser fans as absurd, inappropriate, and even irritating, but occasionally they can foster a genuine sense of identification with the spectators of the future. They've also become an established part of the game's tapestry, its place as a quirky component in soccer's sub-cult is already assured.

According to Major League Soccer, mascots should, in either an overt or a subtle way, symbolize the team by reflecting some traditional aspect of the city or the region where they play.

Here at EDGE we are lucky because for years we have had a mascot to be sitting right under our noses, EDGEMAN! Courtesy of Sportline, our mascot is designed, recognized and ready to be created by a talented seamstress! (or tailor!)

To that end if you are interested in making the FIRST EDGEMAN please contact lisa@edgesoccer.net.

EDGE Relies on Parent Volunteers for Almost All Operations of the Club

Kids_raffle_fall_2007_large
Several local soccer clubs have recently adopted “volunteer requirements” to prod parents either to volunteer several hours of their time or “buy-out” their volunteer obligation. EDGE would much rather recruit interested parents who are willing to support their children by keeping alive this local option for affordable soccer. Please contact Director of Volunteers, Brian McLaren, any staff member, (see Contact), or your team manager, to ask what you can do to help EDGE provide its soccer programs.
